Training on the refrigerant propane in theory and practice
A SKADEC training course on propane and technology took place in Hamburg from 21 to 22 March 2023. While the first day was dominated by lectures, the second day focused on three already installed chillers.
The first day was opened by mechanical engineer Dipl.-Ing. Vilim Mergl, who has been a lecturer in refrigeration technology at the Information Centre for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Energy Technology (IKKE) since 1999 and heads CoolTool Technoloby GmbH. He gave a general instruction on handling flammable refrigerants (A3). With his many years of experience, Vilim Mergel was able to pick up all the participants with practical examples despite the rather dry topic. After the lunch break, there was also the first theoretical part on SKADEC technology.
On the second day of training, the focus was on the commissioning of SKADEC systems in terms of refrigeration technology and software. Thanks to the company Strunck-Weis Technik GmbH & Co. KG, the theory learned in the afternoon could then be illustrated on installed chillers in the surrounding area. In three groups, the theoretical knowledge was applied in practice directly at the installation site. The interest in the overall systems on site was so great that Mr. Lars Tietje from the company Strunck-Weis also gave an insight into the world of fruit cooling and storage.
The feedback from the training participants was very positive and confirms that SKADEC will continue to work on training concepts and offer them to its customers.
