With the successful completion and delivery of two air-cooled chillers based on the natural refrigerant R290 with a total cooling capacity of an impressive 3 MW, SKADEC is once again setting new standards in industrial cooling technology.
The systems are used for process cooling at a leading special glass manufacturer – an industrial sector that places the highest demands on operational reliability, availability and energy efficiency.
Chillers
The chillers are characterised by a particularly high-quality finish and a wide range of technical options, including:
- Frequency-controlled screw compressors for demand-driven and energy-efficient operation
- Full heat recovery for utilising waste heat in the production process
- Separate hydraulic modules for evaporator and heat recovery circuits
- A modern PLC control system with 10″ touch panel for intuitive operation and comprehensive system monitoring
- VDE-compliant control cabinet wiring for maximum electrical safety
This project not only represents significant progress in the use of natural refrigerants, but also underlines SKADEC’s expertise and innovative strength in the realisation of sophisticated refrigeration system solutions in the industrial environment.

Natural refrigerant R290
Propane (R290) is not only very environmentally friendly, but also a technically sensible solution. The excellent thermodynamic properties of the refrigerant ensure high energy efficiency in system operation.
