Water-cooled R290 heat pumps with the natural refrigerant R290
R290 heat pumps from SKADEC are suitable for a wide range of applications. We have developed the particularly sustainable system concept in cooperation with our customers and partners. Advantages include the low refrigerant charge, the low GWP (Global Warming Potential) as well as high efficiency and system availability.

Performance range series overview
SKADEC product features and quality characteristics
Intelligent PLC control
We use PLC control systems as standard in all R290 machines. The high-performance automation solution guarantees high system availability, low operating costs and service-friendly operation.
Tested security concept
Our R290 machines have an enclosed machine housing with explosion-proof gas monitoring and explosion-proof housing ventilation. We are available to advise operators on the preparation of risk assessments.
VDE wired switch cabinet
Flow diagrams and circuit diagrams are created on a project-specific basis. Switch cabinets are wired and tested in accordance with VDE. We attach great importance to standard-compliant load distribution and vibration-proof design.
Efficient and high-quality components
SKADEC R290 systems have frequency-controlled compressors, high-quality heat exchangers and speed-controlled high-efficiency pumps. The focus is on high processing quality.
Execution options (excerpt)
Integrated hydraulics (optional)
Hydraulic modules are planned on a project-specific basis and can be installed in the machine directly ex works. This minimizes on-site work, saves space and ensures optimum configurations. Customer component requirements can be taken into account.
Free cooling (optional)
The integration of free cooling is easy to implement. This solution saves energy costs and CO₂ emissions compared to alternative mechanical cooling variants in winter.
Housing options
Water-cooled machines can be equipped with a weatherproof and soundproof housing. This makes them suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. They offer the advantage that space can be saved by installing the chiller and associated dry cooler separately outdoors. In addition, the sound pressure level is reduced compared to air-cooled chillers installed outdoors.

Eligible system concepts (only available for projects located in Germany)
R290 heat pumps from our product portfolio are available in an eligible technical configuration. The expected subsidy amount is:
- Für R290-Kaltwassersätze 15% der Investitionskosten
- 35% of the investment costs for R290 heat pumps
- Specialist planning and construction supervision are also subsidised at 50%
- Save CO2 and reduce net investment costs at the same time!
Example:
R290 heat pump with investment costs of EUR 100,000 and planning costs of EUR 20,000.
Subsidy: EUR 35,000 for the heat pump
+ EUR 10,000 for planning
= 45,000 EUR subsidy
