Sustainable air conditioning in ultra-low-noise design with extra thick sound insulation
SKADEC supplied and installed a state-of-the-art water-cooled chiller for a customer in the residential construction sector. The system was installed on the roof of the building and had to operate as quietly as possible.
Chiller
The water-cooled R290 chiller from SKADEC was put into operation on the roof of the residential building. With an ultra-low noise design, the system operates extremely quietly with a sound pressure level of just 40 db(A) thanks to thick sound insulation. This makes it particularly suitable for urban areas and locations where noise sensitivity plays a major role.

Advantages / Configuration
Natural refrigerant R290
This chiller is also operated with the natural refrigerant R290 (propane) and therefore offers a sustainable and efficient solution. Due to the very good thermodynamic properties, a significant reduction in filling agents can be achieved compared to conventional refrigerants. Of course, the required flow temperature of 15 degrees Celsius is also possible. At the same time, the refrigerant has a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 3 and an ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) of 0 and is therefore not subject to the restrictions and stricter requirements of the F-Gas Regulation. This ensures long-term operation of the system.
